what to look for in hiring boat haulers?
I am looking to have my boat transported from west coast to the east. I am using uShip and received few bids from different TSPs ( Transportation Service Providers). What are the things or information t hat I should have about the haulers to protect myself and my boat and to ensure that it is transported safely. Thanks in advance for all your answers.
Ask for proof of insurance, and what their insurance covers. I had mine shipped from Florida to the Pacific NW by Bluewater transport. It suffered some minor damage from the shipping, but as I was having a lot of repairs done at the time, I just ate this. My shipping for a 32000 pound 38 foot sail boat was $8500. I was not on site when the boat was loaded and left Florida, I wish in looking back I had been there, I could have prevented the damages caused.
