Jobs in Cape Town: Why Employees Change Jobs

WHY EMPLOYEES CHANGE JOBS

It is very important to recognize the right time to make a change in your career or place of employment.

There are many and varied reasons as to why people change jobs in Cape Town. It is not necessarily an easy thing to do.

There are times when a change is inevitable, possibly the only feasible choice.

These are 7 reasons why people leave their current positions:

1. THEY DO NOT ENJOY THEIR WORK

They always wanted to be a Seamstress, but were under pressure by others to go into business instead.

They have not pursued their dream and could be extremely unhappy doing what they have been forced to do.

They need to ask themselves if they are good enough to be successful in the job of their dreams.

One is usually successful when they are passionate about what they do.

I would recommend that one should pursue their dream on a part time basis to start off with – who knows where one will land?

Remember if there is a will – there is a way.

2. THEY DO NOT GET ON WITH THEIR SUPERIOR

When each moment with their superior is a horrible encounter, they feel it is time for them to move on.

When conflict develops between employer and employee, the employee feels undermined and their self-esteem is damaged, and eventually their work performance deteriorates.

It becomes a no-win situation for both parties.

In such instances, employees will often leave – even if they do not have another job lined up!

3. THEY DO NOT FIT IN WITH THE COMPANYS CULTURE

Some companies are run by orders from management only, while some companies want employees to make their own decisions and to run with it.

Some employees are happy to be given orders and to be told precisely how to do their jobs.

They feel controlled when they can not make their own decisions.

Others prefer to use their own initiative and to do their own thing.

Does the employee fit into the culture of the company?

Does the culture work for them in order to progress in their career?

4. THEY NEED TO BE SELF EMPLOYED

Some people just cannot work for a boss – it is as simple as that. They are too fiercely independent.

They are prepared to work 24/7 and seven days a week if necessary.

They want to be the employer and not the employee!

5. THEY HAVE LOST A POLITICAL BATTLE

Very often there is politics of some form within the work environment.

They feel that once they have lost the battle it is no use to try to alter the situation.

They may think the grass is greener elsewhere and then seek greener pastures.

6. THEIR CAREER DEVELOPMENT HAS STOPPED

They began at a company on a junior level, then got promoted and promoted again and promoted yet again.

They have reached the ceiling in their position in respect of salary and responsibility and then suddenly they feel a change is now or never.

And the final reason why people change positions is because…

7. THEY HAVE BECOME PART OF THE FURNITURE

They are in their comfort zone, yet eventually they feel taken for granted, possibly no longer even noticed.

Suddenly job security is a thing of the past and they start to question if the adage of – better the devil you know – is really so?

And that is 7 real reasons as to why people change jobs….

People are realizing that money is not everything – what about security and suitability and career opportunities?
